Bloomberg | Initial and basic troubleshooting

Overview:
As a support we can only do so much in troubleshooting Bloomberg terminal/Office add-ins issues.
Below are the generic steps we can perform on our end for common BBG Issues (e.g. Terminal not launching, Add-ins not showing up etc.)
If the issue still persists; we may call Bloomberg Support at: +852 2977 6000 to seek further troubleshooting.
Keep in mind that Software updates are released twice a month and are seamlessly pushed down to each Terminal.
If you wish to perform a manual update, please download the appropriate file(s) from
Don't uninstall from Programs and Features if you wish to reinstall Bloomberg. Always use the uninstaller from Bloomberg Folder.

Bloomberg API Diagnostics

1. You may run API Environment Diagnostics from the Bloomberg Folder in the Start Menu.


2.  Once API Diagnostics is launched, click on Start and wait for it to finish.
You may also try to review the errors under System attributes, it will help you understand the cause of the issue.
Click on the Repair button when it becomes available after diagnostics check is finished. 






Steps: Install Office Add-ins (You may perform this for missing BBG add-ins in Office Apps)

1, Open the Bloomberg folder in Start Menu > Install Office Add-ins > Click Install > Until you see the notification that says Excel, Word and PowerPoint is now in the user's profile.




2. In Excel go to File > Options > Add-ins make sure that Bloomberg COM Addin is Active.


Check Manage > COM Add-ins > Go and make sure that Bloomberg COM Addin is selected.
